At Chrysalis Middle School, we view assessment as a pathway to learning—not just a final judgment of performance. Our grading and reporting systems are designed to provide students, families, and educators with a clear, honest, and constructive understanding of academic progress and personal development. Our Grading Philosophy We emphasize mastery-based learning, where the focus is on building deep understanding and transferable skills. Grades reflect. Mastery of core concepts Ability to apply knowledge and skills Growth, effort, and engagement over time Our goal is to foster a growth mindset and support every student in taking ownership of their learning. Report Cards are distributed in Friday Folders at the end of every cycle.
